How to Stay Cool for Your Summer Wedding

The warm weather and endless nights of summer makes it the ideal season to celebrate a wedding. However, while the evenings are nice and breezy, the daytime temps can really soar which can be uncomfortable for you and your guests!

A hot day is no reason to put a damper on the celebration though! With a few simple considerations, you (and your guests) can stay cool through the wedding day.

Here are our top tips for how to stay cool for your summer wedding:

Dress accordingly

From wedding gowns to bridesmaid dresses to menswear, it’s important for the whole wedding party to feel comfortable at your summer wedding.

Chiffon is a light and flowy material that is a favorite for women, whereas lightweight linen suits are the way to go for the guys. Consider noting the weather and dress code in your invitations. This will give guests a good idea as to what to wear to stay cool. Trust us – sweat is an accessory that doesn’t look good on anyone!

Stay hydrated

Water is a must-have on a hot summer day. Be sure you are drinking up in order to stay hydrated. Don’t forget about the importance of hydration for your guests too!

Speak with your caterer to ensure water glasses are refilled throughout the party. Stock up on water bottles so they can be placed out in coolers at your ceremony space, cocktail hour and reception area.

This will assist your guests in staying cool while offering an extra place to get creative with personalization (hello, custom water bottle labels!).

Air it out

If a portion of your event is indoors or in a closed tent, consider air conditioning so that your guests can find some reprieve in the event the day is a super warm one. Speak to your venue coordinator about the air conditioning options available onsite. If unavailable, consider investing in fan rentals for the event space – the added expense is well worth a happy and comfortable wedding celebration!

Help with hospitality

Guest experience is especially critical for summer wedding. Consider supplying anything a guest may need such as sunscreen, bug spray, water spritzers, fans, extra water bottles. Custom sunglasses are a fun option too and can be a perfect guest favor!.

With these tips, you will be well on your way to the perfect summer wedding. And believe us, your guests will agree!
